Christmas Cookie Floor Cleaner

Christmas Cookie Floor Cleaner

The year was 1918…[fast forward noises]… actually, I’m not going to make you read an entire article about my family history. I’m a mom, I’ve got things to do and a floor to clean. Let’s get after it!

Christmas Cookie Floor Cleaner Recipe:

For an 8oz floor sprayer

  • 20 drops cinnamon leaf essential oil
  • 20 drops clove bud essential oil
  • 5 drops peppermint essential oil (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • Fill to top with HOT water

Mix all ingredients together, shake well and, hey, grab the kids and make it fun!

Notes/Commentary:

The blend of cinnamon, clove bud and vanilla are what gives this floor cleaner the smell of fresh baked Christmas cookies. That’s not even the best part either. That particular oil blend is also a great bug deterrent; win-win!

I have used this cleaner on both LVP and hardwood floors in my 100+ year old home. While there is vinegar included, it’s only just enough to help clean and not enough to make your house smell sour all day.

I also have not tried making this ahead of time to know how well it stores. Personally, I just whip up a batch right when I plan to use it. If you do make ahead, just be sure to shake well to reincorporate the oils. Let me know in the comments below how you like it!
